South of the Border Porter

We combined the chocolate and roasted flavors of our robust porter with ancho chiles and cinnamon to create a beer inspired by the Mole sauces of Southern Mexico.  This unique flavor experience begins with a pleasant cinnamon aroma followed by a spicy smokey flavor and finishes with a bitter dark chocolate taste with a creeping heat in the aftertaste.

Hazing to Remember

English ale yeast and additions of oats yield a hazy appearance with a fuller body and softer finish.  Liberal use of Citra lupulin powder creates aromas of pine and citrus rind.
